Pet Portrait Cut-out Image Guide

Find below some examples and top tips for taking a photo which will work best for a Custom Pet Portrait Cut-out!

As for all my commission work, it's best that your reference photo is taken in good, natural, and direct light. However, the pose and camera angle need to be slightly different when the final result is a life-sized or table-top cut out, as it wants to be able to sit naturally on the surface and look correct.

The best way to do this is to take your photo in a space which will allow you to stand further back and get fairly low to the ground. This tends to be outdoors, or in the largest, brightest room in your home. If your Pet is small-medium sized, you can make life a bit easier for yourself and pop them on top of a higher surface, such as a coffee table or countertop. 

If it's possible and they will let you, you might need to arrange your Pet's tail, but if this proves tricky, just be sure to snap a few photos of their tail from the same angle as the main photo so I can add it in at the best angle.
